MEDIA:

#3  An effective television commercial can be produced for under $1,000 if it is done right:

Use prerecorded music already in the public domain.

Use 16mm film or video tape

Film by using local TV station or cable crews during their breaks.

Don't edit.  Shoot commercials straight through to the end.

COPY:

#46  Never put your picture in your advertising.  Two-thirds of the people looking at the ad couldn't care less; One-third will not buy your product or service because they don't think you look "right" (e.g., too old, too young, too attractive, too unattractive, too expensive, too cheap, you remind them of someone they don't like.)  Nobody buys your product or service because of the way you look in your ad.
